Ethical Committee of Scientific Research
A committee concerned with ensuring the application of the ethical integrity of research tools used in Buraydah Private Colleges or conducted by one of its employees, considering the privacy and rights of the human participant in the study, as well as observing the rights of animals used in scientific experiments.
Terms and Conditions
All colleges members, employees, graduate students, or students wishing to conduct scientific research must obtain the approval of the committee before applying the research tools, when there is a human or animal sample in the research, or when they want to access confidential information about the target sample, including theses, experimental or non-experimental research, and funded or unfunded research.
Committee objectives:
- Building a scientific research system with ethical responsibilities represented in the values of honesty, research integrity, justice, equality, and objectivity.
- Enhancing the transparency aspect in the field of scientific research and its outputs among researchers inside and outside the colleges.
- Enhancing confidence in the outputs of scientific research in colleges by creating organizational rules that contribute to the governance of the ethical aspects of scientific research in accordance with local and international laws and standards.
- Adjusting the work environment in research projects so that it is characterized by ethical responsibility, monitoring and accountability in the topics and samples under research and application, and conducting research, to reach the disciplined personal behavior of all those who participate in scientific research in the colleges.
Tasks of the Committee
Evaluate the research tools submitted to it by researchers in all colleges in terms of their agreement with the applicable ethical laws and regulations,
- Ensuring that the research is following the research ethics system on living creatures.
- Monitoring the application of the general principles and controls necessary for dealing with living creatures or parts of them or their genetic material in the areas of research in the light of the research ethics system on living creatures.
- Protecting the human rights in question and ensuring its safety by evaluating the potential risks of experimental research to the participants and ensuring the safety of the therapeutic or educational procedures used. Evaluate the procedures used to maintain the confidentiality of participants' information.
- Ensuring the validity of the approval procedures after insight (INFORMED CONSENT)
- Ensure that minors, incompetent persons, or people with disabilities are not exploited in scientific research in any way, while ensuring the approval of the sample or their parents in case the participants are minors or suffer from mental or psychological disabilities or disorders before participating in the research.
- Issuing approval to conduct the research ethically.
- Issuing certificates approving the application of research tools approved by the committee
- Coordination with the Standing Committee on Bioethics for Research in the event of a need to register research that has been approved to be conducted to the National Committee for Bioethics in King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
- Studying any external evaluation questionnaire sent to colleges before the participation of faculty members or students in filling it out and issuing a decision in this regard.
- Preparing electronic forms to apply for the committee's approval to conduct research.
How to apply

The principal investigator fills out one of the following forms

Form No. 1 to apply for health research.

The committee reviews the request and contacts the researcher if additional information is needed
